Owned locally by a professional low brass studio player in Los Angeles. The Hammond piece has a V cup with a smaller throat to give the sound nice clarity and create bit of a resistance point, which in conjunction with the open bore of the bass slide allows you to have amazing control over the timbre and dynamic without getting tight or forced air. Typical specifications include a bore size of 0.562 inches (14.3 mm) in the slide and 0.580 inches (14.7 mm) through the valve attachment tubing, with a bell from 9 to 10.5 inches (23 to 27 cm) in diameter.

It was built for and played by Billy Byers during his career. There are three members of the trombone family - the straight tenor, trigger-type tenor and the bass trombone. Open wrap F and Gb attachments. 9.5" yellow brass bell. Its a special one and I'm sure will be the crown jewel of any serious trombone lovers stable. $4500 with case. During his time there, he performed with various ensembles at venues such as the Big 12 Trombone Conference, the Eastern Trombone Workshop, the Texas Music Educator's Association Convention and the International Trombone Festival.

The numbers represent only distinct parts, not the number of copies of a part. Simply panning copies of the parts won’t work. Brass instruments are available in a wide range of styles, sizes, and prices for musicians of different levels, ranging from beginner to seasoned performer. It is well broken in, like a nice baseball glove, but has recently been refit with a valve job so the valves are all tight with great compression. This one is in very good condition and has a few small dings and wear but overall very clean.

These babies are hard to find so if you have been looking for one don't hesitate. It's well made and offers traits you can't find in other brands. They show that early trombones were versatile: not only could they be played in a number of settings, but they were able to produce two distinct types of sound. Includes a Cronkhite gig bag. $7500 with case. This is a nice custom Holton bass trombone. Comes with a case and mouthpiece. $1450 The 1688CR is based on Conn 88H tapers but features a fully conical back bow and tuning in the slide.

The later sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries saw the development of an entire family of trombones or sackbutts. This model features inline CR valves in Bb/F/D/Gb. Slide action is very good for an old trombone. The valve needs some attention with the uncomfortable "leather thong" linkage doesn't always work as planned. In 1946, Getzen produced his first line of trombones, numbering around 1,000. This is a really tremendous playing jazzer and I'm having a hard time not keeping for myself (honest truth!) $1350 with case.
